Gretchen has a background in education and taught elementary school for five years. She utilized her Reading Specialist degree as a tutor at Family Matters beginning in 2011, and quickly fell in love with the organization. She was an active member of the Board of Directors before joining the staff team in 2013. In the Development role she plans fundraising events like the annual Walk-a-thon and Gala, oversees Family Matters’ website and other communications, and cultivates relationships with new and current donors.

Gretchen can also be found reading, playing the piano, doing crossword puzzles, seeing a movie with her husband Brent, taking photographs, socializing with friends and family, organizing her closets, or watching her kids, Ryder and Claudia, play hockey.
