I’m walking in Family Matters’ 28th Annual Walkathon on October 7. The young man I mentored for five years — Enrique — graduated high school in June and is now enrolled as a freshman at Northeastern Illinois University. I hope you’ll support me in raising funds for Family Matters and all the good work the organization does for families in the community.
In partnership with youth and their families, Family Matters is building an equitable society through transformative relationships, education, and leadership development to dismantle structural racism and systemic oppression in our community.
Family Matters’ Walkathon raises critical funds to support our youth programs:
- Family Connections (after-school literacy and leadership program for youth in grades 1-6
- Boys to Men (teen boys program)
- Teen Girls Program
- Evening Tutoring (one-on-one tutoring/mentoring for 90 minutes each week)
Please consider making a donation to support my walk and Family Matters – every dollar makes a difference!
