Francis and I will be working at Family Matters’ 29th Annual Walk-a-thon on October 13th. We hope you’ll support us in raising funds for this this wonderful organization which continues (after 22+ years) to be an important part of my life. I had a great time doing a quilt design workshop with summer school students this year.
In partnership with youth and their families, Family Matters is building an equitable society through transformative relationships, education, and leadership development to dismantle structural racism and systemic oppression in our community.
Family Matters’ Walkathon raises critical funds to support our youth programs:
- Family Connections (after-school literacy and leadership program for youth in grades 1-6
- Boys to Men (teen boys program)
- Teen Girls Program
- Evening Tutoring (one-on-one tutoring/mentoring for 90 minutes each week)
Please consider making a donation to support my walk and Family Matters – every dollar makes a difference!
