Please join us for our Annual Walk & Roll-A-Thon – COVID-19 Edition. Youth and their families from our community, along with donors, volunteers, and staff, will be raising funds to overcome structural racism and systemic oppression. This year, we are adding a “wheels” component for those who want to come out and support the event in person and would prefer to ride their bike or scooter. Participants also have the option of doing a personal Walk or Roll-A-Thon. Those persons would secure pledges and walk or roll at a time and place most convenient for them. We will also record the event via FB live and Instagram live for those who choose to participate from home. The Walk & Roll event will begin with registration at 9:00 am for those who have yet to register. At 9:55 am we will have a drum dedication and poem in memory of Dan McNeil.
Family Matters’ Walk and Roll-A-Thon raises critical funds to support our programs:
- The Family Matters School (Kindergarten through second grade)
- Boys to Men and That Goddess Power (Teen Programs)
- Partners in Learning (one-to-one tutoring/mentoring for 90 minutes each week)
- Community Engagement, our collaborative activities with families and members of the community beyond those involved in daily programming.
